Rosebank House is a faith-based social welfare home for the elderly providing a wide range of services.
In 1878 Rev. AD Lückhoff established a home for elderly women in Bree Street, Cape Town. Eventually, a decision was made to relocate from Bree and to start fresh at the current site at Rosebank. The cornerstone was laid on 14 April 1951 and in 1952, 130 residents took occupancy.
In 2025, we honored our origins by reverting to the original name, Rosebank House, reflecting our continued commitment to compassionate elder care in the heart of Cape Town.
In 1960, a further 30 flats were added and named Huis Piet du Toit, within the Huis Lückhoff complex. The final building took place in late 1985 when 16 flatlets were added to the portfolio. Since 1985 Huis Lückhoff has offered the following accommodation options:
Rosebank House is a home for the elderly that is situated in Rosebank. The peaceful setting is ideal for the 220 residents who either live in residential homes: bachelor, one, two or three-roomed flats or rooms and utilise the services created by our Rosebank Residential Home. We are professionals in the care of the elderly.
